BULLI HERITAGE HOTEL NOT A FESTIVAL VENUE!

BULLI HERITAGE HOTEL NOT A FESTIVAL VENUE!
We had dramatic news last week that the management at Bulli Heritage Hotel have decided not to be a Festival partner for 2010. There have been changes at the hotel over the past 12 months and they currently believe that the festival does not bring any benefit to them.
The previous arrangement, for the past 4 festivals, was the festival arranged and paid for the artists in 25 concerts at the Hotel over Friday / Saturday and Sunday, paying for the artists. In return the Hotel provided a Sound Operator and 9 rooms for performer accommodation. We thought this was a good arrangement for both parties. When we were in Jamberoo the good folk of Jamberoo Pub also added cash!
It is disappointing to get the late advice let alone the loss of a great venue. Discussions had been had with the management at the Heritage Hotel in August and all seemed fine to proceed. We even planned starting some regular music sessions there on a Saturday afternoon.
Apparently other concerts have now been booked by the Hotel during the festival period. They obviously are not part of the Festival!
Programming had nearly been completed and was due for release in early November. It was hoped that a few more artists would be invited being the 25th festival but they won't all fit into the venues remaining!
We will put in place a new venue known as The Forum to help with the situation. The Youth Folk Concerts and Blackboard Concerts will be held there freeing up the Nag's Lounge for the relocated concerts from Heritage Hotel.
Despite this there will still be 11 venues at the Bulli Showground Slacky Flat, 120 artists and over 300 concerts, dances, workshops and performances making it a fantastic 25th Birthday Party and celebration!!!
Full Program due out in next 2 weeks.
