BlueScope Steel Returns as a Gold Sponsor
BlueScope Steel will continue it's fantastic support of the Illawarra Folk Festival for the 2011 festival.
BlueScope Steel (and previously BHP Port Kembla) have supported the festival since the early 1990s.
A number of it's Port Kembla employees are also involved in volunteering and organising the festival.
Picture: BlueScope Steel Kombi ' Rebecca' was used as part of the internal transport at the festival.
Some of the comments from previous BlueScope Steel employees who received 2010 Festival passes about attending the festival:
I picked up my ticket Friday after work and used the programme and located and listened and viewed various artists . Found the volunteers very helpful. On the weekend took my mother and we both enjoyed the variety of the performances and was good to see whole families catered for and the interactment between the performers and the audience. Peter
Event enjoyed by myself and family. A well run event with lots of variety. A good local cultural event for BSL to be associated with. Gary
We enjoyed the Illawarra Folk Festival very much. The mixture of performances makes the event very entertaining. The voluntees were great too - ever so helpful and courteous. Definately a positive experience! Foon
Some of my family attend each year, and when i saw the tickets on offer, i thought i would see if i could win some so that i could have a peek at what all the fuss was about, i did not expect to enjoy the festival as much as i did. My partner and i were pleasantly surprised with the variety and appeal of many of the artists that we saw during the weekend, the venues were very good, all in all we had a really great time and sure we will visit the festival again next year. Thanks to public affairs for supplying the season passes and allowing us to visit as guests of BSL. Tom
My wife and son and myself attended the folk festivall and were delighted with the tickets, thank you. We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the performances buying a number of CD's from musicians. The festival has inspired our son to learn Guitar and we have bought a Guitar from one of the sponsors of the festival Haworth guitars and he has started lessons. The amenties and facillaties were clean there was plenty of parking. The venues were good and the walk between broke up the day and helped in keeping our son's attention span between performances. The food was good and was reasonable priced. I wasn't keen on having a wrist band but it was better than a stamp and made entry in each day easy in the car. Keep up the good work. Brad
I really Enjoyed the 25th Illawarra Folk Festival. My partner and I found the atmosphere to be very relaxed and safe. The music varied and enjoyable. All the performers added there own bit of magic to the event. It was nice to see the children having a ball too. There was always something to do and see.We thoroughally enjoyed it. Thank you for the Tickets. Jason
