The Con ArtistsHailing from The Wollongong Conservatorium of Music, ‘The Con Artists’ is an all ages community ensemble combining young up and coming students with some of the regions experienced folk musicians. With a vast line-up of wind, brass, percussion and string instruments, the band’s high energy repertoire is influenced and informed by the musical traditions of New Orleans brass bands, Klezmer, Balkans, French-Canadian Rock n Reel, Italian Folk, Romani and others. Directed by David Rooney and featuring David De Santi (accordion) and Mark Holder-Keeping (sax/clarinet). |
About the Day
Nestled in the foothills of the Illawarra Escarpment is the beautiful Jamberoo Valley Lodge.
On Sunday the 14th of October it will be the venue for a big day out for Folk enthusiasts when they gather in its magnificent ambience, to hear music and verse performed by a great array of renowned international and local performers.
There will be over 25 concerts from over 15 acts from 8.30am in the morning till 7pm in the evening with five venues in play – a large concert room, an intimate acoustic concert room, the restaurant, the ambient outdoor grove area and the quiet charm of the Carrington Room. All these are set in the picturesque and tranquil surrounds of the Lodge.
The day is presented by the Illawarra Folk Club Inc. which is a non-profit incorporated association.

Tickets will be limited and there will be no individual concert tickets.

After 14 October - price to be advised
Youth (12 to 16) - $5 with paying parent
Children under 12 free with paying parent

Venue Map & Directions
Jamberoo is about a 2 hour drive from Sydney and Canberra. The Lodge is situated at the foot of the Illawarra escarpment on the Jamberoo Mountain Road.
If coming from Sydney:
Travel down freeway and turn off at the roundabout to Albion Park.
Travel through Albion Park and head for Jamberoo.
Look for signs to Minnamurra Rainforest / Jamberoo Mountain Pass just before the village of Jamberoo.
