How to get to and from the Festival

The festival takes place at the Bulli Showground off the Princes Highway, Bulli.

Bulli is a suburb of Wollongong which is on the South Coast of New South Wales.

Train

The Music Train

If you are coming to the Illawarra Folk Festival at Bulli on Saturday 15th or Sunday 16th January 2011 then there’s no better way than to join the Folk Music Train departing from Central Station, Sydney. The 8 dedicated carriages will not only ensure you travel in comfort in the most eco friendly and safest way, but your festival will start when you step on the train. Musicians will entertain you on the trip to Bulli Station which is just five minutes walk to the Festival. For full information go to the Music Train section.

 

Train

For details on catching a train to the show grab a train to Bulli Railway Station which is on the South Coast Line. The train journey from Central Station is around 90 minutes. The station is about 400m from the Bulli Showground and is an easy walk.

Car

The Bulli Showground is located on the Princes Highway and the end of the Grand Pacific Drive and is easily accessible by road.

From Sydney

Travel down the F6 freeway and take the Bulli turnoff down Bulli Pass. From the bottom of the Pass, the Festival site is approx. 1 kilometre south on the right hand side of the highway.

From the southern suburbs or coast: Travel up the freeway, Northern Distributor and take the turn at Bellambi Lane onto Princes Highway.

From Canberra: Travel up the Hume Highway and take the turn-off to Wollongong. At the Picton Mt Ousley intersection turn right and come down Bulli Pass.

The scenic route from Sydney via Grand Pacific Drive

Travel down the F6 freeway and turn off at Helensburgh and follow directions to Stanwell Park and the coast, Enjoy the Grand Pacific Drive through to Thirroul and then on into Bulli.


Summer Bus for Late Nighters

community late night bus service, run in conjunction with Dion's BusService.

It provides safe transport from Bulli both north to Austinmer and south to Wollongong on Friday and Saturday nights. The service runs from 11pm to 4am. Full details can be found on web site
