The historic Slacky Flat at Bulli will burst into party mode from 13-16th January 2011, when over 500 performers will converge for the 26th award-winning Illawarra Folk Festival. The festival is nestled at the base of the Illawarra escarpment only 1 hour south of Sydney, so it is the perfect opportunity for Sydney-based travellers to visit via train and experience the true spirit of folk music, dance, poetry and storytelling. There is something for everyone from young to old with 11 venues to choose from. The Illawarra Folk Festival is family friendly and weatherproof. So if you are coming to the Illawarra Folk Festival at Bulli on Saturday 15th or Sunday 16th January 2011 then there’s no better way than to join the Folk Music Train departing from Central Station, Sydney. The 8 dedicated carriages will not only ensure you travel in comfort in the most eco friendly and safest way, but your festival will start when you step on the train. Musicians will entertain you on the trip to Bulli Station which is just five minutes walk to the Festival. The 8 Music Carriage themes for the Green Music Train listed below have been provided to help people plan their involvement in the 2011 Illawarra Folk Festival.
More details of the programs in each of the carriages will be provided later in the year when the full festival program is available. In general the train timetable is arrange so that people travelling by train can catch the main festival performances associated with the festival theme on the day of travel.
For people travelling by train on a single day or both day remember you festival fun will begin on the train.
Not only with some great entertainment but involvement in the festival and it’s a great way to meet people and travel as a group.
Trains run regularly back to Central during the day and the last train back after a full day leaves Bulli at 10.30 pm.

FESTIVAL ENTRY
FESTIVAL ADULT ENTRY for all day Saturday or Sunday is just $55.
You can also buy a WEEKEND PASS (Saturday and Sunday) for just $85 and come back on the train on Sunday evening.

On site camping is $20 per person if you want to stay on for Sunday.
Children under 12 with their parents are free and those between 12 and 16 are just $10 for the day.
FAMILY FUNDAY SUNDAY TRAVEL TICKET

You don't have to spend a lot on a fun day out for the whole family.
For $2.50 per person, your family can enjoy a great value day out with unlimited travel on Sydney's buses, trains and ferries. Look at the map and list of participating operators from the website to find out where you can go.
You can buy your ticket any Sunday from CityRail stations, bus drivers (excluding PrePay services), ferry ticket offices and authorised newsagents, 7-Elevens and convenience stores.
You will still need to buy an Illawarra Folk Festival Day Pass for $55 to enjoy the festival.
