About the Festival
The 24th Illawarra Folk Festival will be held at the Bulli Showground, 15km north of Wollongong and 70km south of Sydney. The festival was formerly held in Jamberoo. This will be the second festival at Bulli.
The Festival is organised by volunteers from the Illawarra Folk Club Inc. The Festival aims to present Australian and world folk music, song, dance, poetry and yarnspinning. There is a large emphasis on participatory events such as sessions, workshops and theme concerts. Generally there are around 200 events in 12 venues over 4 days.
Festival Jobs to do
We're looking for venue managers, office workers, shop managers, sound operators, waste managers, carpenters, electricians, camp wardens, door controllers, storepersons, drivers and generally lots of hands.
Get Really Involved and Join the Organising Committee!
If you really want to be a big contributor then why not join the organising committee? There are about 40 segments of work to be done prior to the work. You need to be an enthusiastic organiser and slightly mad, like the existing committee!
We have 1 or 2 meetings a month in the evenings and the odd social function for team building!
It is a great sense of achievement to be part of the organising committee. No experience is really required, just enthusiasm and being able to work with like-minded people. Contact the Director, David De Santi, if you feel you can do this, details below.
