Tell the World about our Party!

Your first job / privilege / courtesy is to tell the world you are volunteering at the Illawarra Folk Festival at Bulli, 15 to 18 January 2009! Tell them it's a huge party, great fun and terrific for their ears, feet and soul.

General Information

• All volunteers will undergo a Site Induction and local job briefings by their coordinators.
• Please read the Information For Volunteers and be familiar with its content for emergency and other situations.
• Setup commences 9am Tuesday 12 January 2010. Please arrive on time for registering and briefing. Wear suitable clothes for safe working including closed shoes, gloves and a hat.
• Volunteers arriving during the early part of the week need to register at the Volunteer’s Kitchen and attend a short induction.
• The Volunteer Kitchen is in the same location as last year - between the Dog Kennels and Horse Stables.
• There is lots of free parking on the site, follow the signs. Please drive slowly and carefully around the site.
• Wrist bands will be available on Wednesday from the Festival Office.
• Please ensure that you sign on at the start of your shift, sign off at the end and return all 2 way radios and volunteer vests when you sign off. The Kitchen will supply tea, coffee, water and biscuits during the festival. Please keep the area tidy and assist where you can.
• Lunch will be provided for volunteers working on set up Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and pack-down on Monday.
• Please be aware of all service areas, even if they are not related to your position. If you notice full garbage bins, unclean toilets or showers, people without wrist bands, lost children or property or any other area that needs attention, please tell a Venue Manager or the Shift Manager.
• Be alert but not alarmed! If you notice anything that looks dangerous or risky to public safety, please tell the Shift Manager.
• A special thank-you for volunteers will be held at the Festival Bar on Sunday evening at 6pm. This will include a group photograph and then food and drink.
• Volunteers set the Festival standard. Please be kind, patient and courteous to all performers, fellow volunteers and members of the public. Together we can make it a beautiful weekend.

Festival Office Times

• Wednesday Midday to 8pm
• Thursday: 8am to 10.30pm
• Friday: 7.30am to 11pm
• Saturday: 7.30am to 11pm
• Sunday: 7.30am to 4pm

Transport from Sydney Airport

If you are flying into Sydney Airport you can catch a train to Bulli! We can pick you up from Bulli Rail Station. A one way ticket costs $18 for an adult and $29.30 return. Take the Airport train to Central, about 9 minutes and then change to the South Coast Line (Blue Colour) for Bulli, about 90 minute trip.

Camping

Camping is free for fully registered and 12 hour providing volunteers.

Camp site opens Tuesday morning for volunteers only. The campsite is open for general ticket holders from Wednesday.

Join the Illawarra Folk Club
