Back at Jamberoo in 2000 there was an attempt for the Largest Penny (Tin) Whistle Band in the World. On that occasion there were 99!

We're going to try again at the next festival.

Johnny Spillane will once again assist in getting everyone playing the tunes required for the record performance - Scarborough Fair, Click Go The Shears and Molly Malone.

The performance will be during the Festival Finale on Sunday evening, 17 Janaury 2010.

There will be various workshops and rehearsals during the festival and the hope is for over 100 Penny / Tin whistlers.

It will cost $15 per person to register and you need to attend the festival on Sunday to participate (Day Passes are $55, Advance Season Passes are $95 till 8 January).

All proceeds will go to Greenacres Disability Services. You'll get a 'D' whistle if you need it, the music and of course a heap of fun.

Registration will be via the website from http://www.illawarrafolkfestival.com.au/store/ or at the Festival
